Session Information

A guided tour of the grounds of the former Navy Mechanics School (ESMA) to explore its history, focusing on its operation as a Clandestine Center for Detention, Torture, and Extermination (CCDTyE) and its reclamation as a Space of Memory. The tour includes a visit to the Memory Site Museum, which operated as the country's largest clandestine torture and disappearance unit during the 1976–1983 military dictatorship, where more than 5,000 people were held.


Recorrido por el predio de la ex Escuela Mecánica de la Armada (ESMA) para conocer su historia, centrado en su funcionamiento como Centro Clandestino de Detención, Tortura y Exterminio (CCDTyE) y su recuperación como Espacio para la Memoria. El recorrido incluye la visita del Museo Sitio de Memoria que funcionó como la unidad de tortura y desaparición clandestina más grande del país durante la dictadura militar 1976-1983 por donde pasaron más de 5000 personas.

El recorrido incluye la visita del Museo Sitio de Memoria que funcionó como la unidad de tortura y desaparición clandestina más grande del país durante la dictadura militar 1976-1983 por donde pasaron más de 5000 personas.
